Small Kitchen Knife by Master Shin In-Young

Master Shin In-Young is the head blacksmith of Master Shins Anvil and owns the oldest blacksmith shop in South Korea established in 1845. At 13 he began his apprenticeship and at 17 he became a master. Using a cylinder-shaped Chosun anvil from the Chosun dynasty, he hand forges his museum quality tools individually.

Following old world techniques and traditional minimalistic design, Master Shin creates high quality, functional pieces that are also durable works of art.

Materials: handle: chestnut or oak wood, sun-dried for years to achieve the right weight and water resistance. blade: made from the same steel used in railroad tracks.

Care Instructions: No need to sharpen for the first two to three years. After which, one may sharpen with a honing stone as needed. Avoid using the knife on hard surfaces. To clean, wipe with a soft cloth using water only then dry thoroughly to prevent rust. Lightly oil the blade as needed.
